Welcome! I am Betsy McMichael, I have been caring for the now Safari line of Golden Retrievers since 1981 when I purchased my first Golden Rebble. You can still see her in my dog’s pedigree’s some 8 generations back.
My focus is on local pet homes, I do not ship and all my puppies are sold with limited AKC registration. I do campaign my dogs in the AKC and International conformation show ring with many International Champions. My dogs all complete their OFA & Cerf. Certifications and are posted on my Safari Goldens Facebook page.
I have no applications to fill out for a Safari puppy, I find them useless, and people just tell you what you want to hear. I reserve the right to refuse the sale to any person or persons I feel are unfit. My motto is the right puppy-in the right home at the right time.
My puppies go to their new homes microchipped, current on all veterinary care, a purchase agreement, care plans, puppy food, and a plush toy that smells like mom. I have socialization Saturday every week here at the farm to give hands-on help with any problems we may be having with our dogs.
There are many factors to take into consideration when getting a new puppy; I will help you with that. I encourage any prospective puppy buyer to bring the family and spend time with my Goldens to get an idea of what they want in their new family member.
I have had customers pick prospective planned parents of their puppy and come watch them be born! I am the sole caregiver of every animal here and help deliver every puppy born in a special nursery built in my home.

My animals are all beloved pets with every consideration given to their health and happiness with lots of room to run and play 24/7.
AKC Golden Retrievers are the only breed of dog I own and the only puppies that are born here. I do rescue and re-home some dogs that are not Goldens, I do love all dogs!
My goal is to produce the healthiest, best tempered, beautiful Golden and give my puppy owners a support system to keep them healthy, well trained and loved.
Safari Goldens are my hobby and not motivated by profit. There is no better place on earth than to be here at this beautiful place with all these wonderful animals and be visited by people that love them as I do!
